Introduction
Tomato Cast is a synthetic orthopedic casting tape, made of woven fiberglass or polyester fabric
that applied water-activated polyurethane resin. This fabric is fairly elastic in every direction and
this makes it easy to use. Its hardening process starts once exposed to moisture in the air and
you may have about 4 minutes of setting time. It takes about 20 minutes to complete hardening.
Tomato Cast is so porous that it drains moisture rapidly after hardening and this allows it to
maintain its light weight and strength for a long time. It also has high transparency features for X
rays and this makes it easy to observe the patient’s condition.
Tomato Cast is so elastic making it easy to apply and the adhesions of the finished ends are very
clean.
